January 13, 2010
Dear Emmanuel Family,
I am excited to tell you about a sermon series I will be beginning this Sunday, January 17th titled Worship Recovery!
The Bible is clear that we were created to eternally worship our creator. In fact, the Westminster Catechism answers the first question, “What is the chief end of man?”“To glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” The mission and vision of our church is founded on the foundations of worship, discipleship and outreach. For these, and many other reasons, I believe it is time for us to discover, and maybe, recover, the meaning of worship in our lives and in our church community.
This Sunday’s sermon, titled Worship in 3D, will explore the complete nature of worship in our minds, souls and bodies. On January 24th I will explore the tension between Worship Service or Worship Experience? And finally, on Sunday, January 31st I will preach about the God ordained power of corporate, intergenerational worship.
I believe the content of these messages are so important for us as a worshipping church that I ask you to listen to them on our church web site or get the CDs if you have to miss a service!
I know that I speak for the staff and elders in saying that there is nothing more encouraging than when our diverse, intergeneration church meets together for corporate worship. Thank you for making it a priority in your life. See you Sunday.
Serving with you in Christ,
Rick Durrance, Senior Pastor
