Dear Emmanuel Church,
I personally want to encourage you to attend our worship services this Sunday, June 6th. We have the privilege of having Dr. Don Davis preaching this Sunday and he is one of the most passionate and effective preachers on Christ’s church in the country. I was so excited when I reviewed his preaching outline that I knew that I needed to let you know how blessed you will be to hear him on Sunday.
Dr. Davis is the founder and Director of The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) with World Impact. Through Emmanuel’s relationship with World Impact, Inc., I have personally gotten to know Dr. Davis and invited him to preach to our church while he is in Los Angeles. Dr. Davis is a recipient of numerous teaching and academic awards and has served as a professor and faculty at a number of fine academic institutions, including Wheaton College, St. Ambrose University, the Houston Graduate School of Theology, and the University of Iowa School of Religion. Dr. Davis has written numerous courses, articles, and curricula, and has participated in many academic and theological consortiums such as the Staley Lecture series, Promise Keepers rallies, and the University of Virginia Lived Theology Project Series. He is also a member of the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature. In his current role, Don has authored a number of comprehensive texts, curricula, and study materials to equip urban leaders to fulfill their ministries on behalf of the underserved in the urban church.
