Nursery, Preschool, and Kindergarten

early childhoodNursery

At Emmanuel, babies first learn about the love of Jesus through the gentle arms, soothing words and playful hearts of the people who help in our nurseries.  During both Sunday services (9:30 and 11:00), our nurseries are staffed by parents and other people who are committed to Emmanuel Church.

While the children are with us, we are happy to give bottles, change diapers, rock, sing songs, talk to and play with them.  Baby Church curriculum is used in our nurseries.  This curriculum teaches in very simple terms what the Bible is and who Jesus is and helps the children learn the words Bible and Jesus.  It also introduces praise songs that the children sing while ringing bells.  It is a blessing to watch!  Gospel Light’s Baby Beginnings is used with children 19-36 months  along with Baby Church curriculum.

Pre-School and Kindergarten

During both Sunday services (9:30 and 11:00), we offer programs for 3 and 4 year olds, and Pre-K and Kindergarteners.  Each of these classes has a teacher and an assistant that commit from September through July.

These teachers have a special place in their hearts for the children and understand the importance of imparting Bible truths to children in their formative years.  Our pre-school teachers help the children understand in age appropriate ways what it means to love and be loved by Jesus.  Gospel Light curriculum is used in these classes.

Because we believe we are here to support parents in the spiritual training of their child we also send home a Take Home Page with the children.  These help keep parents informed as to what is being taught and gives fun and interactive ways to reinforce the teaching throughout the week.
