As we pray this week, we are persevering in our service by praying for guidance 

on where to serve

Scriptures

John 14:23-27: Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Psalm 25:4-6: Show me your ways, Lord,  teach me your paths.

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.

Reflect

Sometimes obedience to God looks like trusting Him when we don't know what we're doing.  We trust that He has plans for us in how and where we will serve Him, we just need to listen to His calling.  Sometimes that includes calling us out of our comfort zone to serve, and we need to trust that if He puts us somewhere, He will make sure we do His will there.  

One of the students recently experienced this at VBS a couple of weeks ago - she was asked to help with the Bible lesson teaching, and was not sure she would be able to help.  But throughout the week she felt God empower her and embolden her to lead the kids during Bible time, and she knew God had led her there!

Pray

In your prayer time this week, spend time thanking God for His guidance in your life up until now.  Try and recall (ask for help remembering!) specific times God guided you in service, and thank Him for it.  Hold on to those memories, because that trust is what you will hold on to as you step out in faith.  

Pray for God to guide you on where you should be serving now - maybe you need to try something new that you never considered, maybe you need to go back and serve somewhere you haven't in a long time, or maybe you're right where you should be serving.  Spend time discussing your service with God, and trust that 

He will guide you to where He wants you.
