Yearly Focus

We believe that prayer isn’t just something we do – it’s the foundation of who we are.
This year, we are committing ourselves to becoming A Praying People.
Psalm 127 reminds us: unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
In other words, anything not built on prayer is destined to fail. This year we want to go
from being a church that prays, to being a praying church.
We want to prepare our hearts, minds, and lives so that we are able to hear and
respond to the Triune God.
We want to participate in the Story and Mission of God
We want to persevere through every season and struggle, knowing that prayer gives
us strength
And we want to proclaim the glory of God to ourselves, one another, and our world.
Hebrews 4 calls us to approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may
receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
We believe that everything — in our lives and in our church — begins and is sustained
through prayer. We trust this year will be a foundation from which we can all move
forward together as a praying people.
