In Christ...(Part 2)

As we pray this week, we are participating in the Story of God by embracing our identity as being In Christ.

Scriptures

Colossians 2:9-12: For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

Colossians 3:1-4: Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Adoration

Jesus, we adore you because you are head over every power and authority. With you and in you we are complete, brought to fullness.

Confession

Jesus, we confess too often we set our minds on earthly things rather than on things above. We confess we fail in making you head over our lives even as you are head over every power and authority.

Thanksgiving

Jesus, we thank you that we are circumcised by you. Thank you that our life is now hidden in you and we will appear with you in glory. God, thank you for raising Jesus from the dead.

Supplication

Jesus, help us set our minds on things above, not on earthly things. Help us live lives acknowledging all you’ve done for us and sharing your resurrection life with others.
