Praying for Revival
Reaching Away
by Praying for the USA

Theme
As we pray this week, we are persevering in praying for others by praying for revival to break out in America
Scriptures
Isaiah 57:14-15: And it will be said:
“Build up, build up, prepare the road!
Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.”
For this is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.
Habakkuk 3:2: Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.
Notice
God moves not in the hearts of the proud, but of the humble. That humility is built around remembering who He is and what He has done in the past, and trusting that He can do so again. When we give into pride, we try to manufacture change rather than preparing the road for God to bring change.
Pray
Lord, we have heard of your great fame. You rescued your people from Egypt, and you have rescued us from the powers of sin and death. By your mercy, pour your Spirit upon the people of this land and bring men and women to repentance and salvation, for the sake of your great Name.
Practice
This week, pray Habakkuk 3:2 every day. Then, ask God what are the ways he is calling you to build up and prepare the road. Ask him what are the obstacles that need to be moved from the path.
