Growing in Faith

by Loving the Lord with all our Mind

Week of

February 15, 2026

Theme

As we pray this week, we are preparing ourselves to be the people of God by training our minds to see trials as opportunities, not punishments

Scriptures

James 1:2-8: Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18: Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Adoration

Father, You are so incredibly generous, more than we could ever fathom.

You want all our experiences, even or perhaps especially our trials, to mature us and

make us complete in You. You desire to give us wisdom if only we would ask with eager

expectation that You will answer.

Confession

Lord, forgive us when we allow our circumstances to cause us to lose

heart.  We confess our fear and doubt that You won’t see us through our current

struggle; like the father in Mark 9 when asking for his son’s healing, “we believe, help us

overcome our unbelief.”

Thanksgiving

Thank you, Lord, that you love us as we are, but that You also love us too much to leave us there. Holy Spirit, we thank You for Your continued work in us to mature us and make us complete in You. And we thank You, God, that you can turn our trials into opportunities for growth, for the building of our faith, and for Your glory.

Supplication

Lord, make us resilient. Help us to persevere through trials and change our perspective to view the hardships in life as opportunities to lean into You and be a light to others. And help us to seize the opportunity to learn, grow, and be made complete in You and trust that You are walking with us every step of the way.

Amen.
