Theme
As we pray this week, we are proclaiming the good news that God has established His family, the Church, and has adopted us into it
Scriptures
John 1:9-13: The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
1 John 3:1-3: See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
Adoration
As you pray, let your heart align with the following words: Lord, you are amazing and wonderful and beautiful! There is nothing or no one like you! Your presence amongst us is a grace that gives us a hope that we cannot ever truly comprehend!
Confession
Lord, so often we aren’t a good reflection of the light that you are. We are meant to be an image of who you are and what you have done, to both one another and to those who do not yet know you, but we continue to let our weaknesses overcome us. When we don’t embrace your Spirit, we are lost and will continue to stray from the blessings you offer us.
Thanksgiving
Thank you Lord for who you are! Thank you for pulling us from the darkness and continuing to transform us to be more like you! Thank you for not letting us go when we fail and seek things that aren’t of your will.
Supplication
Lord, please guide our hearts and minds so that we focus on you first in each new moment. Please help us to see you and to reflect what we see to those around us!
