The Good Of The City

As we pray this week, we are preparing ourselves to be the people of God by praying for the good of our city

Scriptures

Jeremiah 29:7: Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile.

Matthew 5:14–16: You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

We are to be the living representation of God’s love wherever we are

Pray

We ask God that He would put us in circumstances and people’s lives so that we can be a living example of God’s love and mercy to those around us

Practice

Seek out people and places where you can be purposeful in sharing God’s love
