The Great C's
Belonging to God
the Son
Week of
April 26, 2026
Theme
As we pray this week, we are participating in the Story of God by embracing the call of our Lord in the Great Command and the Great Commission.
Scriptures
Matthew 22:36-40: One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 28:18-20: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Notice
The Great Commandment to “love your God” and “love your neighbor as yourself” is a pattern throughout scripture and should be the pattern of my life.
I need to follow Christ as we “go” into our communities, beyond our communities and into the world making disciples in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pray
Father, help me to reach out, love my family, friends and enemies. Help me to seek Your will as I live my daily life.
Practice
I want the Spirit to guide me to realize my gifts, to be active in service as a missionary in the field, a prayer warrior, a financial supporter, a Sunday school teacher, a mentor, or in some specific area of service to the Lord.
